Biography
Human Resources – Benefits Manager at the County of Orangeburg
I am currently the Benefits Manager for Orangeburg County Government. We have about 650 employees and our County is the 2nd largest in State as far as land mass size. I have worked for Orangeburg County for 11 years, and my previous role was in Finance as the Financial Systems Coordinator. I have been promoted and have been afforded the opportunity to advance in my career while working here, it has been a rewarding experience with Orangeburg County.
I am a National SHRM member and received my SHRM-CP certification in June 2023. Earning that certification was very rewarding, challenging, and difficult. My professional career advanced with the knowledge and skills I gained from completing this certification course.
I completed the Orangeburg Leadership program and graduated in November 2024. This was a great opportunity to meet leaders in our community and understand all the challenges we all face in different roles in our community and jobs.
Looking forward to 2025 as the Midland’s SHRM Chapter President. I really enjoy meeting and listening to all the creative minds that make our chapter Excellent!

Kayla has been in the field of human resources for over 5 years. She enjoys giving back to her community, assisting with the youth, and being a mentor for the upcoming generation. She looks forward to serving on the board as Vice President for the Midlands SHRM Chapter.

Lauryn Hutto
CF Evans Construction
Biography
As the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor, Lauryn oversees payroll processing and the benefit administration for the Evans Management Group family of companies - including CF Evans Construction, Palmetto Sitework Services, and TEC Equipment Company.
She is a graduate of University of South Carolina Aiken, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Following her graduation, Lauryn attended the Medical University of South Carolina and received a Master in Health Administration.
When she is not at work, Lauryn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering with her sorority - Zeta Tau Alpha, and cheering for the Carolina Gamecocks.
